The Clúster Digital de Catalunya held a new edition of its Networking Morning at AMBIT BCN HUB, bringing together participatory activities and two business insights sessions to encourage companies to get to know each other, share challenges and build connections across the ecosystem.
Networking is one of the activities that best reflects the essence of the Clúster Digital: creating spaces where companies can meet, identify shared interests and explore new opportunities for collaboration. With this in mind, this edition featured a particularly participatory format, with networking activities taking centre stage alongside the business presentations.
The morning kicked off with an introductory activity designed to break the ice and encourage participants to start expanding their professional networks from the very beginning.
Throughout the event, several small-group activities brought participants together to exchange experiences and identify potential areas for collaboration. Discussions revolved around questions such as the challenges technology companies have helped industrial businesses overcome, the issues companies are currently facing and the solutions they could explore together.
Beyond simply exchanging business cards or briefly presenting each organisation's activities, these dynamics encouraged conversations around real business needs, helped identify synergies and opened the door to potential future collaborations.
The networking activities were combined with two business insights sessions led by Clúster Digital member companies, which shared their experiences and technological solutions applied to real-world environments.
Jordi Cruz, Co-founder of ZentinelMDS, delivered the session "From Machines to Data: Making a Factory Observable". His presentation explored how to capture signals from industrial machines and turn them into digital data that can be accessed by monitoring, analytics and artificial intelligence applications. This approach to industrial observability provides greater insight into production line performance, enables the calculation of indicators such as OEE and helps detect inefficiencies, potentially reducing machine downtime by up to 19%.
Meanwhile, Andreu Araque, CEO of Hedyla by Leviahub, presented "From Paper to Algorithms: Lessons Learned from Digitalising Transport". Drawing on real-world cases, he explained how optimisation algorithms can transform logistics planning, replacing manual processes based on spreadsheets, paper and communications with solutions capable of finding more efficient routes. The results shared included an average reduction of 21% in kilometres travelled and 90% in planning time.
Both presentations highlighted how technology can address specific needs in the industrial and logistics sectors, delivering measurable improvements in business processes.
This edition also welcomed two companies involved in the European project GATE5.0, led by the Clúster Digital. Their participation highlighted one of the programme's key objectives: facilitating connections between technology and agrifood companies to develop innovative solutions that address the sector's real challenges.
In this case, the connection established between the two companies through GATE5.0 has extended beyond their participation in the programme. The project selected for the first acceleration phase is just the starting point of a collaborative relationship that both companies intend to maintain over time, beyond their involvement in GATE5.0.
This example illustrates the value of the European projects led by the Clúster: they not only provide access to funding and support for developing innovative initiatives, but also help build business relationships and foster new, long-term collaboration opportunities.
With this new edition of its Networking Morning, the Clúster Digital continues to strengthen its role as a meeting and networking point for technology companies, industrial businesses and other ecosystem stakeholders.
Promoting participatory activities where attendees can learn, share experiences, engage in conversations and identify common challenges is a way of turning networking into real opportunities for collaboration.
Because a good connection is often the first step towards bringing a new project to life.
