Clúster Digital de Catalunya presents 6 outstanding projects in an event of the AEI calls


This past Thursday, the Clúster Digital de Catalunya organized an event focused on the AEI calls from the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, where it brought together several key players in the sector to delve deeper into the opportunities they offer.

The event, with more than 75 registrants, had an outstanding participation of companies and professionals from the digital world who had the opportunity to explore the AEI calls and understand their impact on the development of technological and business projects.

One of the highlights of the event was the presentation of six successful proposals coordinated by the Digital Cluster of Catalonia. Yeimy Ospina, Head of European and Innovation Projects, highlighted the diversity of AEI projects and the variety of areas that can be covered within the same call.

These projects, selected as success stories, showed the potential and opportunities offered by the AEI calls for the growth and digital transformation of the participating SMEs.

Portwaste Phase II: Marc Melús, Chief Business Officer at Blue Room Innovation, highlighted the central role of blockchain in improving waste management in ports, with the aim of achieving more efficient and ecological ports.

Bodega Digital Phase II: Alexis Alvarez, Head of Innovation at Grupo ICA - ICALIA Solutions, showed how blockchain, IoT and ML technology can improve wine traceability and inventory management in wine companies.

Muelle Digital Fase II: Tamara Villarruel, Aviation Consultant at GPA, described the collaborative platform developed to simplify documentary and operational processes in the docks through digitization, with the aim of improving efficiency in this crucial environment.

Sagic: Pau Guiu, CTO at Itbid, presented the project, which uses Artificial Intelligence to resolve non-confirmations and reduce waiting times and associated economic impacts.

SuitsUBest: Germán Sánchez, head of Big Data & Analytics at AIS - Aplicaciones de Inteligencia Artificial, explained the reinforcement learning methodology applied to improve the marketing and sales strategy in the fashion sector.

RMS:Jordi Vilalta, Product Owner at GNA Hotel Solutions, presented the tool developed to reduce costs, optimize resources and improve management in tourist establishments.

Next generation EU

The Digital Cluster is a meeting space formed by a group of companies, entities and research groups with a connecting link " ICT".

It brings together start-ups, SMEs and large companies and other entities to boost the competitiveness of the Catalan ICT sector, promoting a new business culture based on collaboration and open innovation.


The members of the Digital Cluster of Catalonia agree in their general assembly on the strategic objectives of the organization and choose the Board of Directors that must take the appropriate initiatives to achieve them. The Board of Directors is made up of professionals representing the organizations that compose the cluster and meets periodically.

The Cluster also has an Advisory Board made up of 10 representatives of the Board, the companies in the cluster and other public administrations. They help us enriching the strategic approach of the Digital Cluster.
